In the garden

The exhibition invites artists and creators from different fields, painting, sculpture, lacquer, design and so on, and asks them to spend a day in the garden in their own way, which can be in various forms, such as receiving friends, lecturing and teaching, creating, recording, discussing, meditating and so on, to leave behind their most direct feelings and thoughts about the garden. Afterwards, this part of the record is also used as part of the exhibition, presenting the dialog between the artists and the garden.

At the same time, the garden-related works created by the artists will also be presented in the garden space, and the contemporary artistic expression will complete an interesting dialog with the garden as an ancient field and context.

The theme of the Biennale is "Vivid Jiangnan Stereo Suzhou", the understanding and definition of Jiangnan varies, but no one can deny that Suzhou Garden is the masterpiece of Jiangnan culture and the ultimate materialization of the spirit of Jiangnan. "In the garden" is a definite starting point, but also contains the possibility of infinite extension.
