Born in Liling, Hunan, in 1982, Wang Lijun graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a doctoral degree in 2022 and currently lives and works in Beijing and Tianjin. From 2003 to 2013, he studied for his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and is now pursuing a doctorate there. Wang's artistic practice primarily focuses on sculptural installations, exploring themes related to everyday life. He seeks to re-perceive and understand the relationship between the individual and society through the physical space of materials and the creases of individual existence.
