Born in Nanjing in 1963, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing University of the Arts with a bachelor's degree in 1987, and later earned a doctorate from the same department in 2006. Currently serves as Dean of the Graduate School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, a professor, and a doctoral advisor. He is a member of the Exhibition Review Committee of the National Art Museum of China, a committee member of the Printmaking Art Committee of the China Artists Association, and a member of the National Art Master’s Graduate Education Steering Committee under the Ministry of Education. Additionally, he represented China in the 58th Venice Biennale and is a researcher at the China National Academy of Painting as well as a distinguished professor at Renmin University of China. His works have consecutively won bronze and excellence awards at the 7th, 8th, and 9th National Art Exhibitions, the Gold Award at the 13th Printmaking Exhibition, and an Outstanding Works Award at the 5th Beijing International Art Biennale.
