Peter Gentenaar was born in 1946 in Leswijk, the Netherlands. He is an artist in the modern paper art world and a technology pioneer. Throughout his 40-year career, his innovations have involved specialized papermaking equipment as well as unique papermaking methods. Taking advantage of the shrinkage characteristics of paper, he performed dramatic manipulations of pulp to create striking sculptures. When he freezes the dynamics of the paper during the drying process, like an alchemist, he captures the power of nature.
