Born in Belgium in 1953, Jean-François Maljean is a piano player and composer who graduated from the Berklee College of Music.

Jean-François Maljean has made China's voice heard in the world with his groundbreaking adaptation of elements of the Guizhou Dong Song, and in 2020, he composed the international public service song "CHIME OF THE DAWN BELLS" for China and Wuhan, with elements of the Hubei chimes, to send a distant blessing to China. In 2021, Jean-François Maljean composed the music for the theme video "The Adventure of Sanxingdui", which focuses on the culture of Sanxingdui, so that the public around the world can better understand the culture of Sanxingdui.
