Louisa Bournay-Allaire was born in England in 1965. Her paintings and drawings focus on the power of nature through the depiction of water. She observes abstract lines in nature and depicts them in her work.

For Bournay-Allaire, the observation of water is a means of co-ordinating many lines of research. For example the perception of visible and invisible environments, the notion of time passing and transience, the relationship between flowing water and its surroundings, as well as its importance as a part of the global environment and its metaphorical expression of real life, she sees her artistic creation as a poetic act.
