Born in 1963 in Zhejiang Province, he graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of China Academy of Art with a master's degree. He is a member of the Art Creation Steering Committee of the China Academy of Art, vice president of the Chinese Painting Academy of the China Academy of Art, a national-level artist, a director of the China Artists Association, and a researcher at the Wu Guanzhong Art Research Center of Tsinghua University. He now lives and works in Beijing.
