Born in Guangdong in 1971, he received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Chinese Painting from China Academy of Art from 1992 to 2000, and his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University Academy of Art in 2004 under the tutelage of Mr. Zhang Ding. 2004 to present, he has been working in the School of Chinese Painting of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Now he is a professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and vice director of the School of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. He has long been committed to the exploration of the language of Chinese painting and theoretical research, focusing on the comparative study of various art disciplines, especially in the ink exploration and different cultures "dialog" in search of the traditional open boundaries, is a contemporary ink artist with a wide range of influence and representation. His paintings and calligraphy have been collected by the National Palace Museum, the National Art Museum of China, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and many other important institutions at home and abroad.
