Nana with flowers

Nikki Sanfael.

In 1965, inspired by the pregnancy of a close friend, Niki Sanfael began to create the "Nana" series, her vision of women. The "Nana" series was a series of images of voluptuous, lively women, full of the artist's expectations and fantasies of what a woman should look like. The colorful and voluptuous "Nana" subverts the traditional image of women in art and advocates the liberation of the female body.
